James Gillies, expert positioning & 100 Meadows initiative launch

The Brief

James Gillies approached Push Start Marketing in December 2017 to work for an initial three months to help position him as THE wildflower meadow expert as a way to increase his profile and increase leads for his land management consultancy and contractor business.

James had excellent credentials to build on being a member of the British Institute of Agricultural Consultants (MBIAC), Trustee of BBOWT Berks, Bucks & Oxon Wildlife Trust, acting consultant for The Woodland Trust and he is publishing his first book ‘Wildflower Meadows – the creation and management’ in 2018.

With a budget of one day per week we began to build James' profile locally so the national press would have the confidence he was an established expert.

In January 2018 James decided to launch 100 Meadows inititive and asked Push Start to help him launch this new idea in the final months of our contract.

Launch of 100 Meadows

We arranged a photo opportunity and interview with the Head Gardener at Blenheim Palace to officially launch 100 Meadows to the Press. Blenheim Palace Gardens also agreed to create three meadows in support of the 100 meadows project ensuring an ongoing relationship with James Gillies.

Speaking Events

1. Confirmed speaking opportunity at Bleinheim Palace Flower Show 2018

2. Sell-out speaking event at Soho Farmhouse (27th February), resulting in three peices of land management consultantsy work and re-bookings for future talks.
