Social Media 121 series: 5 steps to add MailChimp to your Facebook page

Spoiler Alert: It’s super easy.

Want to attract more customers to your mailing list? Well you’ve come to the right place. By the end of this blog you’ll have successfully added the MailChimp app to your Facebook company page.

Do you have everything you need?

For this you will need:

  • A Facebook company page for your business

  • A pre-existing MailChimp account and mailing list

  • 10 minutes.

Step one: Search for the MailChimp app

Using the Facebook search bar, type ‘MailChimp’ and select ‘Apps’. Click ‘Use Now’.

Push Start Marketing shows the Mailchimp app in Facebook

Step Two: Press ‘Set up Form’ and log in to your MailChimp Account

Step Three: Begin Facebook configuration

Once you’ve logged in to MailChimp click on the ‘Integrations’ tab if you’re not automatically taken there. There should be an option to add a signup form to you Facebook page (see image).

Click on this and it may give you a ‘Log In’ button, or you may be able to continue without logging in again. From here you can select your page details. Select the page you want to use, which MailChimp list you want to connect to it, whether you want the sign-up form as a tab on your Facebook page (we recommend this), the theme and your tab label (this will be what your audience sees on the left-hand panel of your Facebook page).

Hint: Try using phrases like ‘Keep Updated’ or ‘Be Included’ to attract the attention of the person exploring your page.

Once all details are correct, click ‘Save’ to add the MailChimp tab to your Facebook page.

Step Four:

Now you’ll need to head to Facebook and view your page. As you will notice, the MailChimp tab you have just created will be at the bottom of your tab list. To adjust its positioning, click on ‘Settings’ then ‘Templates and Tabs’. Here you can move your MailChimp tab to wherever you choose using the toggles on the left. Once moved the position is automatically saved.

Hint: Your page viewers are unlikely to take an extended look at your tab list, so consider moving it to a position near the top of your tab list where it is in a more noticeable position.

Step Five: You’re all done – give it a test

Now click on the ‘Page’ tab. You should see your new tab wherever you’ve chosen to place it. Click on it. You will see your signup sheet for your MailChimp mailing list. It’s as simple as that! We’ve done it here for our page, let us know how you get on with yours...
